The UK’s largest online Contract Laboratory and tender submission site has been launched by Network Scientific to simplify and speed up the process of laboratory outsourcing. With over 800 Contract Laboratories listed, Network Scientific Directory provides a fast and easy way to both source and submit tenders for a vast range of laboratory testing across multiple industry sectors.
Searchable by category, location and keyword, the database can quickly identify suitable contract laboratories for specific testing. More importantly it takes the stress out of tendering. Individuals can submit a tender request to every laboratory on the database, receive quotes from suitable laboratories by e-mail, then make their choice and award the contract.
The site is the brainchild of Zara Watson, a young British scientist and entrepreneur “laboratory-directory.com was developed as a solution to the frustration experienced by our scientific network when trying to source contract laboratories.”
“Our aim is to make laboratory outsourcing hassle-free, convenient and efficient, allowing companies to concentrate on their core business activities.”
With the growing trend for laboratory outsourcing as a way of reducing overheads and under-utilisation of traditional corporate laboratories, the launch of the new site has been welcomed by the scientific community.
Laboratory Manager, Jennifer Day from Sheffield Assay Office, Analytical Services said “laboratory-directory.com is just what we’ve been waiting for. We waste so many hours trying to source suitable contract laboratories for specific projects, contacting individuals on both a commercial and technical level then waiting for and even having to chase quotes. This new site is very user-friendly and will make the whole process much less time consuming.”
Contract Laboratories too are very positive about the new website. Dr Paul Moran, CEO of Broughton Laboratories said “Laboratory-directory.com provides a unique platform for bringing the scientific community and service providers together for mutual benefit.”
Registration for both members and laboratories is free. The site has been designed around the needs of the scientific community and also includes news report, articles and forum discussions. Social media features too with blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter feeds.
